Front Dash Cam Installation

Follow these steps to install your OVAMAN front dash cam. The entire process takes about 15-20 minutes.

1

Prepare Your Vehicle

Park your vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine. Clean the windshield area where the camera will be mounted.

  • Use the alcohol wipe included in your package to clean the glass
  • Make sure the area is completely dry before mounting
2

Mount the Front Camera

Mount the camera behind the rearview mirror, at the top center of the windshield for optimal field of view[reference:0].

  • Position the camera so the lens is within the wiper sweep area for clear views in rain[reference:1]
  • Press the 3M adhesive mount firmly against the glass for 30 seconds
  • Adjust the camera angle using the live view on the app or screen
3

Route the Power Cable

Hide the power cable along the headliner, down the A-pillar, and to your vehicle's 12V cigarette lighter port.

  • Use the trim tool to tuck the cable behind the headliner and pillar trim
  • Make sure the cable does not interfere with airbag deployment
  • Plug the charger into the cigarette lighter port or connect to the hardwire kit
4

Bench Test Before Finalizing

Before securing everything, do a quick test to make sure everything works[reference:2].

  • Start the vehicle and check that the camera powers on
  • Insert the MicroSD card and verify recording starts
  • Adjust the camera angle using the live preview

Installation Tips & Best Practices

A few simple tips to ensure your OVAMAN dash cam performs at its best.

Don't touch the lens — Fingerprints can affect video quality. Use a microfiber cloth if needed[reference:3].
Format your SD card in the camera before first use for optimal performance[reference:4].
Mount the camera within the wiper blade range so rain doesn't block your view[reference:5].
For parking mode, use the official OVAMAN hardwire kit — third-party kits may not be compatible.
